One of the most amazing parts of the 2024 Olympics are the venues! A case in point is the archery competition. It takes place on the Esplanade des Invalides in the center of Paris in front of the Hôtel des Invalides. The Hôtel des Invalides is a complex of beautiful buildings from the seventeenth century. Originally built as an injured soldier's retirement facility, it now houses military themed museums and
monuments.
As you can see from the above photo (courtesy of World Archery), the venue is close to the Eiffel Tower and you can even see its very top from the ground!
One the highlights for the US Olympic teams yesterday was the gold medal that was reclaimed by Simone Biles and the US gymnastics team. Congratulations!
Some of the competitions for the US teams today include judo, table tennis, boxing, tennis, hockey, fencing, beach volleyball, volleyball, water polo, soccer, and basketball.
To watch on TV, tune in to NBC or stream on Peacock and other platforms. France is 6 hours ahead of US Eastern time and 9 hours ahead of US Pacific time.
